Sculpt Gel is a very useful product to have in a makeup kit as it can be used for numerous effects, creating a great range of results. To use Sculpt Gel it is simply a matter of mixing the parts A+B componenets and the C if the area on which it is being applied is soft and moveable. I have found an article written by Stuart Bray detailing all of the uses of the sculpt gel and some examples of how it can be applied. The examples that I have mostly seen of the application of Sculpt Gel include scars and cuts, where it is necesssary to raise the skin. I have used the sculpt gel for various effects before, including general cuts and a cauliflower ear. The results worked really well, I found during my experimentation with the material that IPA alcohol will blend the edges of the gel nicely into the skin. It is important to texture the gel as it will look too shiny and smooth therefore making it look very unrealistic and not suitable for the outcome.
I found this article really helpful for the information on the different types of silicone that are available. As the article notes there are two types of silicone, tin-cure (condensation cure) and platinum cure (addition cure) . It says that tin-cure silicone is regularly used for mould making and platinum cure silicone is used for application onto the skin. An important note is that silicone should not come into contact with latex as the will disrupt the cure wasting the material. To speed up the drying process one can use a warm hairdryer on the silicone this will reduce the time it takes to set on the skin. A little silicone pigment can be added to the silicone in order to atch the model's skin well to produce a seamless effect.
I looked on the Model Shop website which sells the Sculpt Gel, on this site it has helpful and interesing information concerning the product. It says that the product is great for craeting wounds, scars, burn, bulet hole noses and ears. It has approximately a 4-5 minute working time on the body and sets in 15 minutes. The gel can be softened to allow good movement on areas of the skin with a lot of movement. It can then be painted with various products, including the illustrator palette.

I found this video on the website, it details the process of creating various wounds with scupt gel and all of the possible outcomes that can be made. It gives a lot of ideas for how one can make various results on the skin. It also shows a variety of skin tones, on to which the colour has been matched proving its use on a range of skin tones. The results look effective, however there are some that I do not think look particularly effective and therefore I will focus on the better examples. Overall the video is very infomative, however there are elements that I think could be improved upon.
