The Model

I chose my model based on a variety of factors, however primarily through gender and profession. As he is studying to become an actor he was perfect for the role in the film. He has a larger framed body which makes him perfect for the role of the troll-like original creatue. I wanted someone who looked the part, before applying the makeup, with the right frame of body and facial shape. Brandon had short hair and kept himself clean shaven therefore his overall look was suitable. His eyes also matched the colour I was going to try to create with the rock makeup. I therefore felt that this was a really interesting element that would make him suitable. I have seen his work in previous films, therefore I knew that he could portray characters well and that he enjoyed the process of being made up in large prosthetics. All of this combined meant that he would be suitable for my characer design and would wrok really well to portray an effective result

A very important part of the process is to patch test the model, here I have the forms that I filled in with my model's signiture to say that he had been tested and there were no reactions to any of the products. This meant that I could go ahead using the regualr products and not worry about the materials that I could use on my model. I also completed a Health and Safety Checklist on the day of assessment to make sure that I ket the station hygenic and used equipment that would not cause any issues.
